David C. Kimble's Seminar

David Kimble

Hello Fellow Anglers, I’m Dave Kimble. I hope you’ll think of this angling seminar as an oral magazine about BC fishing. If you bought the magazine, you’d probably find several articles that really appealed to you and you would likely read those first. However, over the next few weeks you would likely read all of the rest of the magazine; bottom fishing for halibut, lingcod and snapper; bait fishing, trolling and fly fishing our local high lakes; and trolling plugs, Apexes, spoons and bucktails on your big lakes for huge rainbow and bull trout. My goal is to expand your knowledge of fishing all of BC and hopefully to make your fishing trips much more fund and productive.  David Kimble's Bio

I and 61 people from all over the Okanagan valley and the abroad came to see David Kimble's Seminar on Fishing Techniques with slides of the coastal fishing resorts, down rigging, bucktails, and his pop can gadgit.
It was held in Vernon on Saturday Feburary 23rd, 2008 at the Pantry Restaurant for a one day seminar!

Bio – David C. Kimble

Dave Kimble was born is western Washington State and was actively trout fishing by grade three. He caught his first salmon off Manchester across fro Seattle WA 5 years ago. He often skipped school to fish for salmon from his rowboat in Puget Sound. During his military years he was stationed in Florida where he was always tossed between bass fishing inland and surf fishing for Boston Blue Fish, Sea Trout, Snook, Sharks, and Pompano. After getting his BA degree in Ellensburg WA in 1970 he moved to Vernon BC and became a Canadian Citizen. He immediately took up fly fishing on the high plateau lakes surrounding his newly adopted city. In 1989 he won a fishing derby on Okanagan Lake with a 16.5 pound rainbow and was asked to write a column for the local yacht club. It was picked up by a magazine in Alberta and he received his first cheque for writing. He has since had more than 300 articles with photos published in 17 different publications including BC Outdoors, BC Sport Fishing, Outdoor Edge, Salmon Trout Steelheader, and the Canadian Fly Fisher. About half of his articles have been about fishing in salt water and the other half about fresh water angling. While he loves every fishing experience including deep sea fishing for White Marlin and Dorado from a 21 foot Panga in Manzanillo, his favourite is still bucktailing for rainbow and bull trout that often weigh over ten pounds.

Dave has been a feature presenter at the Abbottsford Sport Show, the BC Outdoors Road Show, Surplus Herby’s Fishing Show and he has spoken at numerous Rotary meeting and fishing clubs in BC and Washington
